The subject of this article is the discussion of infrastructure for spatial information as an example of opening public sector data. The main aim of this paper is to identify the concept of opening public data. All areas of public administration activities at the national and local government level are more or less related to the use of spatial data. The article discusses the concepts of: spatial data, spatial information system. The article focuses on the work of the European Union on increasing the integration of spatial information systems. Polish public administration is becoming increasingly aware of the benefits of opening access to public data. This paper presents an enormous value of opening data, which should be disposed of appropriately and properly implement.
