SPECIFICITY OF MANAGING PUBLIC REAL ESTATE RESOURCES BASED ON THE EXAMPLE OF THE POLISH EXPERIENCE

Abstract

Real estate, due to its specific features and the role they play in the economic, social and environmental area, require an effective but also sustainable approach to their use. There is a need to protect both public and private interests through rational real estate management using modern decision support tools. The changing socio-economic environment requires the modernization of the rules and procedures for managing public property, taking into account, inter alia, value of the property.

The article presents a proposal to improve the State Treasury real estate management system by applying the principles of economic and social efficiency. These procedures emphasize the need for high-quality information to be used in decision-making processes. For this purpose, an analysis of the literature on the subject was carried out. The proposed detailed improvements mainly relate to Polish urban areas. Therefore, they also take into account the provisions of Polish law in the field of managing public real estate.
