Review Process
GIS Odyssey Journal use a double anonymous peer review process before publishing newly submitted manuscripts. This means that Authors and Reviewers do not know each other's identities.
To facilitate this, authors must ensure that their manuscripts are prepared in such a way as not to give away their identity. Submission should include the article file and title page as two separate files. Identifying authors (names, affiliations, sources of funding, acknowledgments and authors contributions) should be included only in the title page file. In the text of the article, the third person should be used when referring to work that the authors have undertaken previously, and ensure that figures do not include the authors' identifier and affiliation. The file with the article text should have the properties removed.
All submissions are initially assessed by the Editorial Board for suitability for the journal and checked for similarity to other already published work.
Papers deemed suitable are then sent to at least a minimum of two independent reviewers to assess their scientific quality. Reviewers are recruited from entities outside the Author’s home institution. From 2021, the list of article reviewers of each year has been published on the journal's website.
Reviews are done using a form and conclude with an unambiguous recommendation as to whether the article should be published or rejected. The form is automatically available after acceptance of invitation for review process.
Articles with all positive reviews are improved are checked for linguistic correctness before final acceptance.
The Editorial Board is responsible for the final decision regarding the acceptance or rejection of articles. The decision of the Editorial Board is final.
The whole review process takes about 2 months. The final date of publication is dependent on the number of manuscripts that are already waiting for publishing.
